The Young Academy of Norway is an interdisciplinary organization for young researchers dedicated to research policy and dissemination.
The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters took the initiative to establish the Young Academy of Norway (Akademiet for yngre forskere). The first call for members was launched in the spring of 2015. Out of the more than 160 applications, 20 members were chosen and founded the academy on 29 October 2015.
At present the academy has 34 members from all over Norway, covering all types of research institutions and is open for researchers from all disciplines. Since its launch in 2015 the academy has become a central actor and agenda-setter within Norwegian research policy and is also an active partner in the European and global networks of young academies.
